Yonsei University Information
Although the Yonsei University was established as recently as 1957, it can trace it's roots back much further as part of it used to be the Gwanghyewon (medical hospital) that was established in 1885. Nowadays this South Korean university attracts around 31,000 students, and has a secular basis, with the university belonging to the Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia.
Yonsei University is very highly regarded in South Korea and is considered to be one of the best three universities in the country; it is ranked within the top 250 universities in the world by the Times of London.
Over the years the gates of Yonsei university has seen many great scholars and faculty pass through it's gates. Some of these include poets such as Jung Jyun-Jong and Yun Tong-ju; politicians Han Seung-soo and Ahn Byung-Young; the mathematician Kim, Jeong Han; the film directors Na Woon-gyu and Bong Joon-ho; and the sports stars Ji-Yai Shin and Chun Lee-Kyung.
