Yeshiva University Information

Yeshiva University is a Jewish university, it was established in 1886, and it is located in New York city. The university has a secular nature and focuses on a jewish education based upon the philosophy of the tree of life. Yeshiva has produced many leading Rabbi over the years, and is currently steered by president Richard Joel.

When studying for undergraduate degrees it is usual that study in traditional subjects such as science, politics, business and arts be combined with study in jewish religious programs; this is carried out at three major colleges: yeshiva, Stern and Sy Syms. More options are available at the graduate level of study and a further six colleges and schools cater for the study of Medicine, Law, Psychology, Social work, Jewish Education, and Jewish Studies.

Over the years many alumni have moved on to take key posts in the jewish community, these include the like of Seth Farber, Shlomo Riskin and Matthew Levitt.
