Wageningen University Information
Wageningen University is very strong in the life scientists. It offers 18 degree programs at undergraduate level, these are largely biological and its impact related. The main subject areas are in: nature and the environment; Animals and plants; Life sciences and technology; health; and Economy and society.
The university is located in Wageningen, which is in the Gelderland region of the Netherlands. It is currently presided over by the rector Martin Kropff. In addition to the BSc programs on offer, Wageningen offers a large choice of masters programs and research at PhD level. The Masters programs at Wageningen are taught in English making them ideal for overseas students who wish to experience life in holland but have no knowledge of a very complex language. Some of the programs offered at masters level include Bioinformatics, Food Studies, Forest and Nature Conservation, Land and Water Management, and Plant Biotechnology.
Over the years Wageningen university has built up an enviable list of alumni including the likes of Wilbert Hetterscheid, Karel Vuursteen, Wim Soppe, Marijke Vos and Cees Veerman.
