University of Sussex

Motto: Be still and know

According to the government of England, there are certain areas that have been designated as being areas of outstanding natural beauty and they are areas that draw tourists each year to marvel at the sights contained within. In fact, England has some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet and one of these places is known as the South Downs. Located within the South Downs is the University of Sussex; a university that has been in existence since 1961. It contains a student body of around 25,000 students and ever since the postwar era of its introduction has been a powerful force for interdisciplinary research and social activism in the area.

Interdisciplinary Approach at the University of Sussex

One of the reasons that the University of Sussex has become so successful in such a relatively short period of time is that the interdisciplinary approach that it takes to higher education has enabled a number of different people to get university educations that otherwise would not be able to do so under different systems. For example, people that were unable to continue onto university because of financial matters and are currently working often don’t have the luxury of attending classes during the day, but the University of Sussex has a number of on line and evening classes in order to help accommodate these people better. In addition to that, the university has a lot of part-time plans that students can undertake in order to get their degrees after multiple years of study.

Another thing that has served to be a boost towards attendance at the University of Sussex has been the university’s efforts towards making more partnerships with other learning institutions both within England, the United Kingdom and even further on internationally. That is why not only they get a lot of international students interested in studying with them, but also why they have a lot of study abroad programs and student exchanges available to people interested in expanding their horizons. They have a number of original and innovative activities available to their students along these lines that many other universities are unable to offer.
