University Sao Paulo Information
Although mainly located in Sao paulo city (four campuses) the university of Sao Paulo is also located in six other cities (seven campuses) across the state. The main campus is the Campus Armando de Salles Oliveira located in an urban area of Sao Paulo. The university is currently presided over by Suely Vilela Sampaio.
Sao Paulo university offers a large range of subjects to study and has school related to Arts, Sciences and Humanities; Communications and Arts; Nursing; Engineering; and Agriculture. It has faculties in Architecture and Urbanism; Pharmaceutical Sciences; Law; Economy, Management and Accounting; Education; Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences; Medicine; Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science; Odontology; Public Health; Animal Science and Food Engineering.
The university has a strong tradition of producing leaders of Brazil, these presidents include Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Prudente de Morais and Nereu Ramos amongst many. Other famous faculty and alumni associated with the university of Sao Paulo include the Writers Paulo Emílio Salles Gomes, Augusto de Campos, Monteiro Lobato and Raul Pompéia; the scientists César Lattes, Mayana Zatz, Oscar Sala, and Mário Schenberg; in film Nelson Pereira dos Santos and Fernando Meirelles; in photography Sebastião Salgado; and the explorer Amyr Klink.
