Situated in the German city of the same name the university of Marburg was established in the early 16th century making it one of the earliest universities in Europe. Today the university has expanded to include a broad range of courses and is headed by its president Volker Nienhaus.
Over the years the university of Marburg has had a great strength in humanities, Natural sciences and medicine, in more recent times these strengths have been added to with leading edge research being taken out in nano and material sciences.
