University of Kyoto - traits of liberty

Kyoto University is located in japan and was founded in 1869 as a public institution It is situated on three campuses of around 323 acres, these include Yoshida, the main campus and Katsura in Kyoto, and Gokashō, in Uji . It is famous for a group of philosophers known as the Kyoto School.

There are around 13,050 undergraduate students and approximately 9100 postgraduate scholars, in addition to the 1950 staff and faculty. The chancellor is Kazuo Oike The school does not have a mascot. It is a member of the Kansai Big Six Association.
