University of Adelaide Information
The university of Adelaide is one of the oldest universities in Australia and was established in the early 19th century. It is currently presided over by chancellor John von Doussa. The university has an urban setting and is distributed throughout the Adelaide area, with campuses on North Terrace, in Waite, Roseworthy and Thebarton.
Adelaide has five different faculties; these are dedicated to the following major areas:
Engineering, Computer & Mathematical Sciences; Health Sciences; Humanities and Social Sciences; Professions (eg. architecture, law and business); and the sciences. Some of the subjects that the university of Adelaide is very strong in include biotechnology, agriculture, IT, telecommunications and art.
Being a prestigious and fairly large university has enabled the university of Adelaide to attract many recognized personal and alumni over the years, and no less than five nobel prize winners have attended the establishment!
