Tsukuba University Information
Although tsukuba university was officially established in 1973 it can trace its roots back as far as 1872; having been partially created from the Tokyo university of education. Located in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan it offers study across 28 different schools and colleges, some of the subjects that Tsukuba is most famous for include economics, physics, computing and physical education.
The Tsukuba university has the honour of being associated with the noble prize winners Sin-Itiro Tomonaga, Hideki Shirakawa and Leo Esaki. Other famous alumni and faculty associated with Tsukabi include Yukihiro Matsumoto, John Maeda, Kiyoko Ono, and Kota Matsuda. Due to its strength in physical education Tsukuba university has produced many sports people including Masashi Nakayama, Masami Ihara and Sawao Kato.
