Temple University, a comprehensive public-research, state-related university, is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1884 by Dr. Russell Conwell, the University offers 300 academic degree programs in the fields of law, medicine, business, education and media. Academic Preparation at Temple University
Temple University offers 125 bachelor’s programs, 113 master’s programs, 52 doctoral programs, and eight first-professional degree programs in the fields of dentistry, law, medicine, pharmacy, and podiatric medicine. Additionally, there are two associate degree programs (Horticulture and General Studies) and ten certificate programs. More than 1400 faculties operate part-time and over 1700 full time.
Temple University is known for its School of Dentistry and School of Medicine – both providing strong academic and clinical background to its graduates, many of whom achieved impressive results in medical research and practice. Students and Student Life at Temple University
Temple University is proud to be the second most diverse university in the country with international students from all over the globe including India, China, Japan, Korea, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Brazil, and many other countries. Its diversity is reflected in more than 170 student clubs and organizations, which provide outlets for all cultures and help students socialize.
The University gives its students an opportunity to attend and take part in performances of all kinds as well as guest lectures and sports events. The 115-acre Main Campus in North Philadelphia is home to nearly 9,000 students. There are also the Ambler and Tyler campuses. The spacious Independence Blue Cross Student Recreation Center and the Student Pavilion provide plenty of recreational space as well as entertainment venues. Additionally, there is the newly opened Phase II of the Student Center Annex with a movie hall, computer lounge and plenty of multi-purpose space for various student activities.
Temple University owns an impressive new TECH Center – a 75,000 sq. ft. facility allowing a variety of learning activities for its students. All campuses are also equipped with computer labs, distance learning facilities, and wireless Internet.
