About New York University

New York University is located in the United States of America and was founded in 1831 as a private institution having been proposed by Albert Gallatin. The major campus is situated in Greenwich, Manhattan.

There are around 18000 undergraduate students and approximately 15900 postgraduate scholars, in addition to the 1900 staff and faculty at the NYU. The president is John Sexton. The schools mascot is the bobcat. The universities sports team is known as the violets. The libraries hold over 4.5 million bound volumes. It is a member of the Nerdy Nine, and is the largest private university in the USA.
