Korea University Information

Korea University is a private, independent research university in Seoul, South Korea. Established in May 1905, it is headed by its president Lee Ki-Su and is one of the SKY universities together with Seoul National University and Yonsei University. The university's founder is Lee Yong-Ik and is one of the country's oldest universities. The university's 56 departments are divided amongst these colleges and schools, with various academic offerings ranging from foreign language and literature to different expertise in Engineering. The university also offers interdisciplinary courses which include Comparative Literature, Financial Engineering, Biomicrosystem Engineering, Micro Device Engineering, Cultural Heritage Studies and Telecommunication System Technology among others.

The university also offers many opportunities for scholarly research with its research centers and institutes like the Research Institute of Korean Studies, Korean Language and Culture Center, Research Institute for Information and Communication Technology, Institute of Biotechnology, Center for Information Security Technologies and Ilmin International Relations Institute.
