Kobe University Information
The university of Kobe was established in 1949 but can trace it's roots back much further (1902). The main campus is located at Rokkodai (六甲台); there are three other campuses at Kobe university these being Myodani (名谷), Fukae (深江), and Kusunoki (楠). Being the main campus means that Rokkodai contains nine of the faculties at the university and many of the graduate schools.
In total Kobe University has eleven faculties; these are dedicated to study in the following core subject areas Agriculture; Business Administration; Cross-Cultural Studies; Economics; Engineering; Human Development; Law; Letters; Maritime Sciences; Medicine; and Science.
Over the years Kobe university has ranked up some famous alumni including the Japanese prime minister Sosuke Uno. Other famous people include the biologist Shinya Yamanaka; and business leaders such as Masahito Takasaki, Masatoshi Yamamoto, Tadaharu Ohashi, Akio Tanii and Seiichi Takahata.
