Georgia Institute of Technology Information
The Georgia Institute of technology is a public research university that is located in the United States city of Atlanta. It is located in the Midtown area in the North of the city. The Institute is divided into six colleges, these are as follows:
College of Architecture
College of Computing
College of Engineering
College of Liberal Arts
College of Management
College of Sciences
In addition to a strong level of academic study Georgia tech is well known for its excellent in sports; it is a member of the ACC and its teams compete in 17 varsity sports. The football team has been voted best team on four occasions by the newspapers.
The university has many famous faculty and alumni including two Nobel prize winnes; these being Jimmy Carter and Kary Mullis. Famous Alumni in the sciences include John Young, Jason Morgan and Herbert Saffir. In the sports famous names associated with the Georgia Institute of Technology include Bill Fulcher, Joe Guyon, Nomar Garciaparra and David Duval.
