George Mason University Information
The George Mason University is mainly placated in Fairfax, Virginia, about 15 miles from Washington D.C. Additionally the university has further campuses in Arlington, Manassas and overseas in the UEA. George Mason attracts around thirty thousand students and it is especially strong in the fields of economics, law, and public policy. The university has been overseen by president Alan Merten since 1996. The university has a very strong sports program and many of its teams compete at the highest level in NCAA division 1.

Over the years many George Mason University has had many fine people pass through its doors; being close to the capitol city has led to a large amount of politicians being amongst its alumni icluding Anna Cabral, Kristine Iverson, and Karl Rove. the economics department has been graced by two noble prize winners, these being James Buchanan and Vernon Smith. Other people of note include TV people Susan Rook, Debora Wilson and Chad Ford. As George Mason takes part in sport at the highest level many sports stars have learned their trade here including Christopher Watson, Mike Kohn, Jennifer Derevjanik and Rob Muzzio.
