Fudan University Information
The Fudan University is located in Shanghai in China and is considered to be one of the best universities in Asia, indeed the times ranks it has one of the top 100 universities in the world (placed at 85). In China itself Fudan is a very prestigious establishment and those who partake in study there are subjected to some of the best education that the country has to offer. Fudan is currently overseen by the university president Wang Shenghong.
Fudan university is a large educational establishment and has 69 different departments (in 17 different schools) and has 189 research institutes, most of which are multi disciplined. In all this allows Fudon to offer 73 different degree topics at undergraduate level, over 200 at masters level and 156 at doctoral level.
Being one of China's leading educational establishments has led Fudan University to have an enviable list of distinguished alumni: these include the poet Xu Fancheng (徐梵澄); the biologist Tong Dizhou (童第周),Wei Yand, and Xu Tian(许田); mathematicians Li Jun (李俊) and Chen Dayue (陈大岳); and the politicians Li Lanqing (李岚清), Wang Huning (王沪宁) and Yu Youren (于右任).
