Ecole National Super Mines Paris Information
The ENSMP is located on four main campuses these being Paris, Évry, Fontainebleau and Sophia-Antipolis. The largest of these is Paris; this campus caters for 554 students and an additional 106 student researchers. In total the four campuses at Paris national school of Mines caters for 800 students and 380 student researchers; these are overseen by over 1000 members of staff,of which 250 are either lecturers or research personal.
At the present time 486 students are studying for a doctorate and 160 studying at the masters level.
Although the Paris school of mines was originally founded to cater for those that were to work within the mining industry the university has evolved over time to cater for a more general teaching establishment. Nowadays its aim is to train the industrial management of the future and offers a broad range of study including both technological, economical and social fields. Over the years many people have passed through the gates of the Ecole nationale superieure des mines de Paris including the two nobel prize winners Maurice Allais (economics) and Georges Charpak (physics).
