Dartmouth College Information

Dartmouth College was established in 1769 and is now a prominent university and member of the Ivy League. The college is located in Hanover, New Hampshire in the USA. Dartmouth College is a 4 year private liberal arts college and its divisions include 29 departments, 10 interdisciplinary programs, and four graduate schools.

The college has a large endowment enabling it to look after its students, although the fees are $34,965 per annum, over 57% of students receive financial aid from Dartmouth's funds.

The library of the college is very impressive and contains around 2,475,000 books, 190,000 maps, and over 450,000 photographs.

In addition to its undergraduate programs Dartmouth college also has four graduate schools: Dartmouth medical centre; Thayer school of engineering; Tuck school of business; and the school of arts and sciences. The deans of these Faculties are Stephen P. Spielberg, Joseph J. Helble, Paul Danos and Carol L. Folt respectively.

Dartmouth students participate in 34 intercollegiate varsity sports both at Ivy League and NCAA levels. It is estimated that 75% of Dartmouth's students are involved in sport at some level.
